I have a 01 gt and it seems the theft light is staying on. It starts and runs normal but light is constant. I searched but didnt see anyone with the same problem. Any thoughts on what this might be?

How to activate cluster selftest 1999/2000

Hold the trip reset button with your key off, then insert the key, turn one position forward, until your odometer says "test", then let go. Keep pushing the trip button until you find dtc codes.

It would give you a big leg up IF you could post the cluster DTC codes.

Here's some information on an alternate way to find out the cluster DTC codes. In addition this advanced ODB2 scanner will "tell" you what the cluster is "seeing"?

My odometer goes on and off?

Another possibility is that PATS has been disabled in a PCM tune. As far as the cluster is concerned, PATS is a fail. Hence the reason why the theft light is on but it starts anyway.
