I need to quite trying to copy you guys and see how far I can get with my current setup and cal tracs lol. I mean I just have a goal of mid 12s for now

my original goal was mid 13's, then i purchased aluminum heads and other bolt on's and wanted mid 12's, now i installed a 347 stroker and my new goal is high 11's

those are what the spring sits on in the center of the upper A-Arm.

stock ones have rubber which are tight and slow movement.

Ive got a set of old springs laying around from my conversion, my66coupe was supposed to buy them from me but never sent payment.... usps quoted me 25 dollars for shipping though...

which one of you is gonna hit 10s first? I was on here looking for suggestions about having a front sway bar or none since ben considered it to me. So far it looks like no sway bar really seems to be the way to go. Get me one step closer to the 10s. It will be sick when you get your car up and running chris. We can go cruising in the 68,69, and 70.

Ben I might have found you a set of heads. One of my teachers has some moderate cleveland heads i'm gonna talk to him, get a little more info and see how cheap he wants to let them go. It sounded like he really doesnt give a crap about them

UPDATE! Ran 11.39 @ 118 this past weekend. Then ran like a 119.4 mph pass later. Getting closer!!

Here is the rundown on the car hoping to go 9.50's

67 Shelby Gt 500 replica
SVO W-351 block bored and stroked to a 427
Edelbrock Glidden Victor Heads
Edelbrock Super Victor Intake
Holley 750 (keeping it small for the street, 950 for the track)
2 stages of NOS by way of Speedtech 2 stage plate.
C4 Mighty Mite M2 X6 tranny with a 3000 stall and tranny brake
Strange 9" with 35 spline 3:50 gears with a detroit locker.
Working on getting rims and tires if I can figure out if I can fit a 28x12.5 tire under it.
Motor made 839hp with 800ft/lb with the 750 carb.
Car has to be together for 7/16/05 my wedding day!!

I thought a roll cage is mandatory in cars running 10.99 (1/4) or 6.99 (1/8) or quicker?

It depends on the sanctioning body but yeah, that's the deal at the tracks around here. Add a full second to those times if it is a convertible. 12.99 and you need a 4-point bar, 11.99 and full cage is required. I've got mine setup so that I'd need a downhil track, 35 inches of barometer, or 20 degree day (yeah right in Tejas!) to ever see 11.99.
