any "at home" methods to fixing my ashtray door?

I have my console out of the car for a while, my ashtray door moves like it should but it will fall down all the time. I understand there is a spring in there but i found none.

Any ways i can fix it with stuff i have at home??

I have heard of people using those magnetic cabinet closer things. But I have never tried it.

I actually put a pretty good sized magnet to the top of the ash tray door and it kept the door closed cause it would connect with the ash tray

www.50resto.com sells ashtray door repair kits. I found my spring sitting on the carpet after my friend broke it (leaned on it) and just stuck it back Problem fixed...
