Any gains to be made by removing the cats or the filter in the intake track? I plan to install a CAI and a SCT Xcalibrator Flash Tuner. Just a side note I live in Tahoe...6200 elevation.
Thanks in advanced.

My buddy just added an O/R H to his car had it retuned and dynoed. He gained 11 rwhp and rwtq up 14. Just running a 91 tune and CAI before and after.

The factory cats, on the 05-06 Mustangs, are considered as factory high-flow cats, to begin with.. Their also far less restrictive and flow much better, than the factory exhaust systems, that were used on the now, outdated 94-04 Mustang. Unless you plan on installing an off road H or X pipe, you're just throwing money, down the drain...As for the filter, inside the intake track..That's also known as, the hydrocarbon trap. Ford discontinued installing those devices, around April or May, of last year.. So you can go ahead and remove it, without any worries or a/f ratio concerns, I was also informed, by my Dealer Rep. that you can expect to see a 3-5 HP. gain, by removing it..Anyhow, hope you find some of this, helpful.. And good luck to you..
