Any ideas for getting two PIA smog pump bolts off??

Blast them with PB... I just had my smog pump off. FWIW, here is what I did:

The front bolt would not come off with the pulley installed, so I removed the pulley (easier with the serp belt still attached). Then for the two bolts, I recommend using sharp blows to the wrench, not slow, hard torque. I used the side of my fist to punch the side of the wrench and I got a nice click and then it came off. This helps to minimize rounding of the heads as well.

Once the two bolts are out (one long one from the front, one shortie on the rear), the unit drops down (you have to remove the one hose union too).

I put neverseize on all fasteners upon reinstallation.

Sorry. PB = PB Blaster. It works real well on breaking corroded/seized, etc fasteners loose. Parts stores sell it, as might Wally mart.

Those Bolt-outs work great. I have 3 different sets of Craftsman ones (they have ones for air tools and hand tools, etc) and just used them last week. I put a socket over the Bolt-out and put both on the bolt and then (you guessed it) punched the assembly onto the bolt so it would bite better/deeper. Came out like butter. Mint tool if you ask me.

You might have tight clearance issues on the front bolt depending upon what mods you have done up there, but the rear bolt should have a ton of room for the Bolt-out, socket and ratchet to fit. On the front, if you have space constraints, I bet a box-end wrench over the Bolt-out would work.

i just started drilling into the actual smog pump because it was junk anyways. eventually got that bolt out. the other one came out alright
