Do you work at Staples? Cause I see you car in that parking lot a lot! Also I think you live near a friend of mine, do you live kinda near 1st ave north? And one last thing I think I met you once last year in the parking lot at future shop. Back then I had a 99 V6 it was dark green and you showed me your gauges and the bezel! Was that you?
Mount them upside down and you increase your chances of overheating them. I have two friends who are car audio installers, and they say the #1 and #2 problems they see for amps dying are people who mount them to the sub box, or people who mount them upside down. And they have seen all types of amps come back, even the high-end ones. JMHOWOT said:Yup that was me. But no I don't work at Staples I am at Costco.
As for the amps being mounted upside down, I am not worried about it. I had my Lightning Audio 4.600 mounted upside down for over a year now. Without a fan, that Orion 2100's heat sink is freaking huge. Think of it this way, the circuit board is mounted to a heat sink, then that heat sink is mounted to anouther heat sink that has a fan sitting in the middle of it. Beleive me there is no way that bad boy is overheating.
No,I didn't have the time or tools to do it right.WOT said:Cool. Did you eng up doing it?
