No offense man, but if your 18 and graduating HS now isnt the time to jump into being an LEO. I wouldnt trust someone a little younger than me with a gun and alot of authority.

Not saying that all young cops are bad, but you should gain some life experience first. Just my opinion.

about ten years ago one of the towns I hung out in had a really young cop, I doubt he was a day over 20, he was the son of the police chief.

Me and some friends were hanging out in a parking lot all of us had fast cars, so this kid comes in and does burnouts and dough nuts in the cruiser for 10 minutes or so, I can only imagine what the people driving by were thinking when they saw all of us hanging out with mustangs and camaros and such and the cop that was sent there to break it up was doing burnouts instead.

that's where officer discretion comes into my play.
My state only requires arrests in one situation Warrants.
For every other voiolation it states an Officer "May" doesn't mean they have to.
A warrant states an Officer "Shall" meaning you must.
