Got a c4 auto transmission. Was "built" but not exactly sure what was done to it, the car has no 3rd gear(drive) only have 1-2 and the d don't work. It's got a b&m shifter. 1-2-d-n-r-p , so im wondering what was done to remove 3rd gear, i want it back !!
You could have any number of problems here. It could be as simple as a linkage adjustment or as serious as the third gear bands being wiped out. I would check the shifter adjustment first and go from there. Is this a manual or automatic valve body?
if i put it in D im prtty sure it just stays in first. haven't gone crazy with it yet, just know it doesnt go in. And when im in drive it never goes into 3rd even when i go fast.
