I just won a vortech v1 off ebay (if u wanna see it item #200120314641) I was wondering if their are any tips for the install or is the instructions rite on? And does it matter that i no longer have my smog pump i see a special section in the install book about it?

Here is the rest of my combo not on but will be within the next week just in time for pinks all out in milan. Gt40 aluminum heads (port matched to felpro & polished), stock cobra intake (ported & polished lower),Shorty ceramic headers,Off road h-pipe, Pro M maf &36# injectors. Im gonna keep the stock cobra tb &cam with1.7rr. I belive my car has 3:73 or 4:11's in it speedo is off by 15-20mph @70mph. ,Aluminum Drive shaft , Nitto drag radials (on order)

With the above combo do u think i will have a problem hittin 12.99 or faster in the 1/4? Cuz thats the min. et for the all out event.

i will post pics of the install and my motor once i start around wensday

I'm getting ready to put mine on (tapping oil pan tomorrow). Start looking for an oil pan tap/bung now if you don't already have 'em.

Here's some pictures of an install: http://neptune.spacebears.com/cars/stories/scprep.html

If you don't hit a 12.99 w/ all those mods, sell the car. :)

Got an aftermarket fuel pump? 255lph would be great to have. Run the TRex also if your kit comes with it.

You'll most likely want a tune.

Good luck getting it all together so quick - take some pics of it all and keep me posted!

I'd think twice before trying to hurry up a forced combo and immediately
start beating on it to make some kind of event like that.

You can encounter things when going from NA to forced and inexperience
could cost you a set of hg's.

I'm not trying to pee in your Cheerios :nono:
but
Just trying to say in your Zeal to do that event .........

You may not be giving yourself enough time to get accustomed to what
it is like to be forced.

Good Luck with your plans :nice:

Yea i get what you are saying. The way vortech makes it sound is bolt on and go. I know their will be a few things to slow me down along the way but after the install i will have 1 day @ the track to test & tune. Just seeing if you guys had any tips to the install but after looking @ the link stanger posted it looks pretty simple. As my motor sits rite now i should be easy to install (just block no acc. on it) plus i live 1.5 miles away from napa so fittings and tools i can get with out a problem.

might be some helpful info in there.

The tap is apparently a bear to find. I found mine at a pawn shop.

Get a really good tune. Forced combos can really eat up some headgaskets.

go two ranges colder on spark-plugs and gap at .032 or so

Oh yeah, and install as much as you can off the car...and then bring it to the car and bolt it up.

good luck and let us know some numbers
