Kooldawg's write-up on the GT500 spoiler install was great, although his car already had the holes. I am very serious about installing a GT500 spoiler on the Shelby, although starting with a bare trunklid might be difficult..

For those of you that have purchased the spoilers, Ford or aftermarket, do they come with templates and detailed instructions??

Also.. I am looking at the same spoiler as Kooldawg because of the price, but I've seen Ford spoilers sell on eBay for a little more than $200, unpainted. What do you think a paint job would cost?

Any other tips/advice would be excellent.

Thanks in advance.

**For those of you with SGTs who think that my car should remain spoiler less.. well, the GT500 spoiler is absolutely gorgeous.. After seeing SGTs with the spoilers, I have to have one now..

I have the same car as you #5176 and just yesterday installed the GT500 spoiler. It turned out great. When you buy it through ford it comes with the template so you know where to drill.

Granted the price is nice for the one I got and some are even less, but in your case, I'd either get the OEM spoiler with the template or find somebody who has the template and buy/get it from them to use.

Playing with my wife's really makes me want one.

Or option C, find someone with the same color car to trade trunklids. Quite a few enthusiasts would be interested in a spoiler delete car. I'd like to find one to get the CDC spoiler. That's the one I wanted originally, but I couldn't find anyone to trade, so went with the GT500 spoiler as my 2nd choice.

I would love to do that.

I'll post something over on the Shelby forum tomorrow.

Really?

I guess it all depends on the price for a paint job. I have found the spoiler (Ford) for about $210, plus stripes (50-100), plus shipping, plus paint..

I wanted an '03/'04 Cobra spoiler on my '04 Gt, but decided not to because of the cost..
