Anybody running 15X4 Draglites?

I run 15x4 draglites on my 90 GT convertible. I have 165R15 tires on them, but don't remeber the exact brand. Drives nice, handles decend (just don't think you are going to go autocrossing) and believe it or not it stops pretty well. I've been running these wheels/tires for about 4 or 5 years now with almost 25,000 miles under them. I'm on my second pair of 165R15 tires. Got about 20,000 miles out of the first set. There is a lot of weight on those little front tires. It's ok though because they are cheap (less than $70 for both, but I get tires at cost).

A note about 165R15 tires. Some of the tread patterns on these size tires look like they were designed for farm tractors and others look like they were designed for cars. Be sure to look at a tire before you buy it, you don't want to get the ugly tread.

If you do mostly street driving, get a minimum 15x7. I just sold my skinnies and went with a weld 15x7 witha 4.5" backspace for the front.

if you don't mind the tread pattern then look around because i've bought them as cheap as $80 a pair mounted and balanced.i don't believe what little extra rolling resistance you'll gain from a straight tread higher cost tire would be worth the extra money.

I wouldn't recommend skinnies for street driving, but then again some people have run them for years with no problems. You just gotta be careful. My first set of draglites (15x3.5s in the front) lasted me a whole 2 days before i took a curve too fast and ended up on the sidewalk about 6 inches from a light pole. I then got a set of 15x7s and they handle sooooo much better, obviously. Skinnies are good to have for the track, but i just think they're too much trouble for every day driving.

Anyway, the tires i used for my 3.5" draglites were 165R15 Metric radials that I got from pep boys for $35 each. They were the same tires used on the old school VW beetles.

Hey man, give him a break. He has MUCH to learn, but at least he's trying right?

you know, the easiest way to solve this problem is a jack and a lug wrench, you can bring these to the track and deal with a little loss of time on the street, so you can actually handle, especially if you get caught in the rain.

I'm the same age, it's just kinda fun to try and pick out who is inexperienced in this hobby by looking at posts, you can usually tell....
