Anybody use these Taurus 3.8 replacement fans?

The price is alright, and the OEM fans aren't as common. Are they junk or are they OK?

It sounds like its just the schroud, no fan or motor. Be sure b4 u buy.

Most people i know have bought a new tauras fan from ford,for about 100.00 bucks. Remember you get what you pay for. good luck.

Other than the mark 8 fan, they are the 2nd most commonly used fan. It will work fine.

I have one as a spare e fan. Paid 15 out of am junkyard for it

I use the 3.8 Taurus fan, about 30-40 bucks from a j/y. It does a pretty good job (even with the AC on in 100 degree heat) along with the DC controller and a larger alum. radiator. The shroud is not a perfect fit, I actually took some sheet metal and filled in a few gaps. If I had it to do over I would consider the Contour twin fan.

You can also use one from a T-bird or Cougar, essentially the same fan.

Thats because the tbird and cougar, like the mark VIII are MN12 chassis cars. The taurus and countour use the same fans. You can also use the ones from a Ram Charger.

Humm, I was under the impression the Contour fans looked like this:

And Ramcharger was not a reference to the vehicle (Dodge Ram). The Ramcharger fans look much like the fans out of a Dodge Intrepid.

Just got my Taurus fan via UPS. My coupe I just bought doesn't have any radiator brackets so going to have to fab something up. Any suggestions?

I just pop-riveted two "L" aluminum angles on the top of my shroud where the factory bolts go and drilled for the stock mounting bolts and then used a cutoff wheel to slot the bottom of the shroud to accept the stock mounting clips - the shroud was a perfect fit on my stock 2-core radiator.
