I just want to know if anybody has already a supercharger installed out there and what do they think. I was thinking to get one in the future, I looked @ Saleen's one and it sounds pretty safe and it looks good. Supposedly, Saleen's Supercharger does not void the warranty of you car. Anyway, if anybody has one installed, I like to hear your opinion, dyno test, etc. :p

Not void warrenty... i dont think so!

Actually nothing you put on your car can "instantly" void your warranty.

If you have a failure and need warranty work, they would have to prove that the aftermarket component caused the failure or was directly connected to the failure.

Just FYI :)

With that said ..I'm still waiting to put on an SC until my 36,000 miles are up :nice:

Thanks guys for your response. Actually, I called Saleen's facility and they told me that their SC has a 12K miles warranty and a Ford dealership should install it and the warranty in the car will remain intact. I guess you are right, better to wait for the 36K to do something like that.

I'm thinking to get CAI and the tuner but I'm not sure which one is better, if the SCT or the Predator. JM how do you like yours? do you notice a good difference? do you know how much HP did you get? let me know what you think if you can, thanks!!! :)

Legally the addition of ANY aftermarket part will not void a warranty do to its existence on the vehicle..BUT, I assure you that when the dealer opens the hood and see a blower on there they will cancel the warranty and then it will be up to to fight FORD in court and that will end up a losing battle for you due to $$$..With that being said though, I have a Vortech on order =) and have personally seen 3 kits installed and operating very nicely!

Don't belive them. I bought the Saleen & it only has a 90 day warranty :notnice: I sent it back to saleen because it was leaking oil. Beware of the super charger with the serial number 70. It got bounced around very hard from UPS.

Over all I would not really worry about the warranty. Just build a good relationship with the ford service manager & they will take care of you. & oh and the saleen kit is really over engineered & there are alot of changes that really aren't necessary. I hope the whipple or KB is better

Ok... I know this doesnt really count

I just picked up a 281SC.... OMG!... the acceleration is brutal and its not even tricked out using the modular fords formula. I ate a C5 last night (no way I could hope to eat a C6) Get it... just get it (and all the other go fast goodies you will need)... you will not be sorry.

Lets see some pictures. Who did you buy it from? what's the serial number (last 4 digits). It's got to run a 12.5 in the 1/4.

Thats what Im talking about, 430RWHP and 398FT/LBS TQ @ only 4 PSI of boost, this is my choice of the forced induction variants. I can keep my JLT CAI and the install is much more "clean" looking IMO. It should be possible for a high 11 second car atleast.

The S/C must have its peak effency at 4-5PSI, you probably wont make much more power by upping the boost, it will probably just turn into a hot air pump...if that much power is about all you ever want, then it will be great...if you want to expand later with a forged SB then get the KB or whipple...they are set to have peak effency at around 15PSI I believe.

You are incorrect sir, thats not at peak effeciency, thats just an effecient design. Perhaps you should just wait around and read JDM's findings when they hit 9lbs.

The 05 gt whipple kit will come with 8 pounds and had already been sent to ford for the durability test. Ford sent some dyno numbers back to us. It was something like 475 horse power and 500 foot pounds of torque.

What about those early rumors that the 3V engine did not have the tolerance to run extra boost? Something about the parts not being built strong enough? Guess they were wrong.

Well, more power to you guys with the new 05, I'm stuck with my 03 Cobra for the forseeable future. I guess I'll have to be wary when one of you guys line up next to me... :nice: :flag:
