Anyone Added A Steel Frame To A Fiberglass Hood?

I have a fiberglass hood on my '66 I've had for years, and I'm quite happy with the fit. However it doesn't have a metal frame, and I have an old hood in rough condition laying around, so I was thinking of removing the steel frame from the factory hood and glassing it into my fiberglass hood.

I've been told this can be done, and I was wondering if anyone here has ever done it?

It seems that removing the frame from the steel hood might not be a lot of fun... Figured I'd see what you guys think.

Removing the steel under bracing from the steel hood will be much easier than removing the fiberglass under bracing from the fiberglass hood, the fiber glass hod will be next to impossible to remove with out damaging the top.Getting the hood to fit after bonding in the steel structure will be very hard to do.
