Native Texan here, now living in the North of New Zealand. I have a ‘66 2+2 that is a pretty basic build. It has a 347 based around a 69 block, T5Z, a traction loc 9” rear, factory disc brakes, etc. the car is 100% mechanically rebuilt, including the drivetrain, suspension and steering, all new fluid lines, exhaust, wiring, etc. It is like new underneath, but it has the weathered paint from sometime in the 70s. Fortunately it is completely rust free. I just replaced the front and rear valences with Ford NOS pieces and the hood is a steel framed piece from Branda performance. I intend on returning the car to its factory ivy green color.
I’ve seen a few nice early mustangs locally and a lot of new ones here on the road - but haven’t met anyone locally to date.
I have owned around a dozen early mustangs and intend to keep this one for touring here in New Zealand.
