anyone dyed their interior?

i waas thinking about dying my ugly tan/beige interior parts charcoal/black. any of u guys done that?

my car came with a black on black leather interior i can see why you want to change yours. you can get some paint from ford to paint your interior pieces but that would be a LOT of paint to buy!!

Mine came black/tan. I bought black carpet on ebay, new black jegs racing seats, new black trim panels on the rear, black rear seat delete. The dash I am keeping but am looking for 94-95 door panels that are two tone tan/black.

But like saleen said it would be very tough to paint it all but its possible.

50resto sells the interior dye. a lot of the fox guys have used it, try searching in there

I wouldn't even want to attempt to paint my interior. Luckily my interior is already dark charcoal so no need, but if it was tan i'd just live with it or peice together a DC interior and install that instead of painting it.

There is a LOT of work involved in painting interiors. You need to take it out, take it apart, clearn and prep every peice and then paint. Then you reinstall and try to get it squeak free.

Not only that, but you need to leave each piece out for a few days to fully dry. I learned that when I painted and clearcoated some parts (PPG paint) and installed them the next day ... when the sun started baking my dash, the fumes were let free. Dayyaum it was strong, so I took em out to dry completely (took about 4-5 days!) Spray paint may be different ... I dunno..

My buddy painted the interiors on 2 off his cars....a BMW and a Olds. and it turned out good. He sprayed everything from the headliner to the seats and swapped out the Carpet from Tan to black. nobody could tell. He did a great job. Used vinyl paint from pep-boys. did a couple coats on the seats. He also did the dash. I even **** my self when i saw how good it looked

I think painting vs OEM cheapens the car out. We all make fun of ricers painting their interiors, but isn't this the same thing really?

I'm concerned with the paint wearing away in high-wear areas over time.

It's one of the reasons I spent a year or so looking for the silver center console IUP trim vs just painting my original trim silver myself.

USe high quality paint to make it looks OEM black

just clean the pieces, spray on some adhesion promoter and spray away...no need to get expensive paint..then coat with a semi gloss clear(never have to armorall )



i am doing this come summertime, along with RSD V2.0...watch out
