anyone Dyno'd a stock GT--Actual HP

I'm sure this has been discussed somewhere on these boards, But has anyone dyno'd their stock Mustang GT to see what exactly they put out? Factory states 260 but I believe its less.

260 is flywheel horsepower and that's right.
They dyno around 225-230rwhp for manuals which is round 260 flywheel with 15% drivetrain loss.

i had this dyno done with 732 miles on it, & had it just the way the dealer delivered it. it dyno'd 208.4 hp & 246.1 tq. if you add 30% (which is what you need to add instead of the 15% - 20% to that you do with dynojets), you will come up with my flywheel numbers - 270.92 hp & 319.93 tq


if you need me to explain why there is a difference between the two dyno's, i will be happy to

alrighty.... here's a quick run down. a mustang dyno is actually a better tuning instrument "IMO". the reason being they use your vechicles weight to factor in the enertia that your car is pushing against on the rollers. this is closer to real world horsepower, because of that.

a dynojet has a set enertia for every car that gets strapped to the rollers, usually about 2000 lbs, which actually causes it to give a slightly higher reading. than if they would factor in the cars weight hope that made sense

This sounds similar to the net horsepower calculated by the G-tech performance meter. The net horsepower is based upon the accelaration and weight of the vehicle. After running 0-60 mph in 6.158 seconds in my stock 2001 GT, the G-tech calculated my net horsepower to be 199.6 hp @ 4551 rpm and torque to be 244.2 ft-lbs @ 4216 rpm. I calculated the weight of my convertible to be 3770 lbs.

no. I'm going to the dyno tomorrow. I haven't been able to run 5 back to back runs on the same road, in opposite directions to find my HP with my Gtech yet.

My 02 GT bone stock with then-14000 miles (IIRC) was at 228rwHP and 272ft-lbs on a Dynojet.

when i was at brothers performance getting my dyno done they said the stock GT's were dynoing around 220hp. they have a dynojet dyno. i dunno how many they dyno'd and i didn't see any of em, that's just what they were telling me.

Numbers are in the sig. It was completly stock on a mustang dyno. Had about 7,000 miles on it at the time. 5 speed.

My stang dynoed 227 rwhp and 263 rwtq on dynojet. Graph in site in sig

I have a little question though. You say Mustang Dyno uses weight to calculate the real world hp numbers. So does that mean if I stripped everything off from the car and went from 3000 to 2500, I will see higher numbers? I'm a little confused

Mine had 233 (standard, not SAE corrected) RWHP with just a K&N and Flowmaster American Thunder Catback.
