I removed mine after installing a light bar. I had the light bar on for less than 3 hours before a stupid ass friend of mine jumped in, slides the seat all the way back and scratches the bar. Idiot.
But I removed them using a Torx bit, I think it was like a T20 or T25 or something. It's suppose to be an allen wrench. Most instrcutions say to remove the headrest first then remove the guides. I just slid the head rests all the way up then used the torx key to loosen the bolts, about halfway up (The wrench began to hit the head rest) I used my fingers to take the bolts all the way off. It took all of 15 minutes.
I couldnt figure out how to get my headrests off either when I did mine, took me forever with the torx bit and a wrench, I am curious to know how to do that too.
they were a bitch to get off. I was all twisted in the back seat sweating my ass off trying to turn a little torx bit with a wrench those ****ers are LONG screws too, have fun! theres 2 on each side if you pull up the headrest.
oh yea, i'd suggest putting the scews back into the holes after removing the plastic things that way you don't lose them incase you ever want to put them back on
I removed the driver's side today. It was a PITA to get the torx bit under there but I was able to get it and a ratchet under there. I was just able to break them loose and above the plastic. The outside one I was able to use my fingers to loosen it. The inside one I used wire strippers to screw it out. It is so much flatter than pliers and can easily grip the screw. Still have no idea how to get headrest off.
Took mine off to. I had a thread about it like a week or so ago. Try to search for it. I just raised the headrests, used a T-27 to break the screw loose, then used a T-20 to give me more room to turn the wrench. Took about 15-20 mins to do both sides. Those screws are LONG!!! They would get loose enough that I could use my hand about halfway through Looks 100% better
Those rings piss me the hell off... I don't know what it is about how I pull my seatbelt out, but I end up making it slide through the little slot and it comes out of them. Unfortunately I need to leave mine there, the seatbelt doesn't fit me right at all without going through the ring.
