there was a guy selling those when i was at carlise a couple years ago, he set up right outside the gate (guess he couldn't afford a site inside)

it was pretty cool, but only meant for keeping dust off your car when it is in a garage, it won't stand up to uv light or being outside in general

it wouldn't last an hour at my place

check out carcapsule.com and .net. One has much better pricing, but the 18&20 footers will run from 350-400+, im sure ebay will have cheaper.

Its pretty extreme, but if my car wasnt a hack machine id reconsider it

I wouldnt care how ugly my stang looked in one of those if it was completely restored, or if I had a more rare (and expensive) Boss 302, then I would really consider getting that ugly thing.

If you where to do this I would think you would wont to fill it with an inert gas like nitrogen to stop the oxidation “ rust / rot”.

those cost about 650-1200 bucks for the "outdoor" type.They are pretty easy to use,drive on the floor piece,zip it up and turn on blower fan.

How does it keep out moisture if it is constantly blowing ambient air into the bubble?

Q.) If you are bringing in the air from the outside you are also bringing in the moisture from the outside. How does the vehicle stay dry?

A.) The CarCapsule does not eliminate humidity it eliminates condensation. The fan exchanges the air by volume 3-4 times an hour. This constant air change and air flow does not allow hot air and cold masses to meet. This in turn eliminates condensation and keeps the vehicle completely dry no matter what the temperature or humidity level.

Q.) If I put my car away wet, what will happen?

A.) The CarCapsule is an evaporative system. The constant air change will evaporate all moisture in a matter of hours. This will prevent rust from the exterior parts while eliminating mold and mildew from the interior.

i think you can also buy jumbo size containers of dessicant, just keep one inside the car and if you could find a way to seal the thing without all the air leaking out you could put some dessicant inside the bag too. i wonder if you can do away with the blower at all?

I have some experience with this sort of thing.

Plastic does not make a good barrier for moisture. The dessicant will fill up with moisture and stop working. Your suggestion could work though. You'd just have to change out or bake dry the dessicant every so often. There are even dessicants available that change color as they absorb water, so it would be easy to tell when it needed service.

Even the aluminized plastic that is supposed to block moisture doesn't do a very good job.

There are air driers that could be used in a steady-state, hands-off type of system. Hmm, I wonder how much it would cost to keep a part of the garage dry? That's a great idea!

You have to put the car in there when it’s a baby and over time it will grow up to fit in there nicely.

Harley sells them for their bikes too. Can't put it outside though as it would suck the moisture in.

Can't see storing anything like this if you are going to use it for pleasure driving.

Now if I bought something off Barrett Jackson that was an investment, possibly but even then chances are I'd have enough money to store in it some climate controlled room.
