My car definitely picked up a ton of top end with LT's. It did seem to get a little soft on the botton end until about 2500rpm though.

A popular practice on message boards is to read the entire thread before posting. That number is old and I have added on some more bolt ons since then (As I previously stated). It will be running damn close to a 13.0 at the track in the upcoming weeks.

Yeah well I got the itch after going to the track last night and running a 13.0@106 with a 1.8 60 ft.

Its not bad for a stock TB, ignition, MAF, and injector car, I think I can do 12's just need some more practice. I was gonna save for a turbo kit but I think its better that I get my all motor setup sorted out before I go ahead and bolt a power adder on. So yeah Im gonna go through and do all the bolt ons since I have none as far as motor goes besides the hci lol.

Anyways has anyone ever noticed a diff going to LTs from shorties? Im thinkin about switching over and Im just curious if anyone has actually seen some real gains, otherwise Im not going to bother.

If you already have shorty headers why don't you spend the money for a bigger Tbody and maf?

You got me there..Its got a TFS 1 cam in it. That track number was with a weiand stealth intake, holley 650 carb, stock E5 heads, stock headers, xpipe, stock 2.25" tailpipes, 4.10 gears, slicks, and the cam.

With the above mods I ran 13.4 and it was my first time driving with a slick.

Since then I have added underdrive pulleys, electric fan, shorty headers, magnaflow 2.5" cats, 3inch tailpipes, got the dual snorkel air cleaner back on and most importantly the driver mod. lol The track doesnt open up until april 7th so Ive gotta wait till then to get some new numbers.

My 60's were only in the 1.80 range and above. Ive got the launches figured out since then so I am hoping to cut a lower 60'. I think if I do a little fine tuning and dial in a good launch that I should be easily able to cut a few tenths of my quarter mile time. But like I said I can be completely talking out of my ass. We cant know for sure until the track opens up. I'll keep you guys updated.

So you only ran a best of 13.4 is what Im reading here, and did it with the cam? Im not trying to be mean, but you did say you almost went as fast as him, when you werent even close, and seemed to have more than just bolt ons (unless you count a cam as a bolt on). Maybe I am being harsh because of the way your first post came off. It sounded like you were dogging him and had gone 13.1 with bolt ons, when the truth is, you didnt!

I had Intake, TB, CAI, pulleys, full exhaust, 3.73s, shifiter and ET Streets myself and went 13.0 @ 103. I know what its like to run quick without much done, but that shouldnt take away from others who are trying to run the number. Instead of starting your post like that, tell him what he can and cant do to improve and leave the "well you only ran this, and I went this with this" stuff to the signature!

Why is everyone so damn sensitive? Holy hell. I wasnt dogging his car at all. What is hard to understand about the fact that I have done other mods since I updated my sig? And you try and trump me by posting your times. So what, are you dogging me know? Everyone knows what your car runs. Its always posted every other thread.

I guess no one else finds it interesting that a HCI car with no bolt ons and an Intake and Cam car with boltons run pretty close together. Aliates car has a ton of potential and power that can be uncorked with those heads and would benefit from some other boltons to compliment them

with the right driver, and the right situation.. any times can be possible unless you run flat out of motor.. i believe 25th's time straight out, because he can drive.. as far as LTs and shorties go, LT's are a monumental difference in sound and power compared to shorties.. shorties just dont do it for me buddy

Im not being sensetive, go back and read what your post says. You made claims that you ran almost the same times as his, and that his car only went 13.0. Did I miss something? Like I said I see where you added your input but the way it came off at the begining of your post sounded like you were dogging on his car simply because yours ran close to the same time (when in actuality it didnt).

Sorry if it sounds like I am knocking you hard, I dont intend to do that, I just read your post as a negetive on someone who went out for the first time in his combo and ran an alright time with tons of room to improve!

And me posting what I ran was to tell you I have been in the same boat your claiming, but instead of using it in a negetive way to down on his car, I use it in a positive way to let him know he has a lot of room to make up. Hell I went 106 mph and mid 12s, his times alone can come down a half second with driving and launching!

Well I went to the track today and ran a 13.16 @ 103.5 mph. lol So now I can write that the car runs super close to that HCI no bolton car. Two different methods to get the same speed. Except his car has a ton of potential as it sits.
