I'm not sure what they'd do about the centercap, but I've seen several people who have painted them and polished just the lip.

Most people use the chrome center caps...it doesn't match though.

To polish aluminum you can go here http://www.leemotorsports.com/almoststock/
or here
http://darkside351.tr****.com/mustang50world/id19.html

But for wheels I wouldn't start with any courser grit sandpaper than 400.
Depending on how bay the wheels are you might just be able to use the Tripoli and White Rouge to bring them back. But Aircraft paint stripper will remove the clear coat.

i polished the lip on my ponies, took 5 days total to strip paint (just off lip)((boring part)), wetsand the lip to get those tiny machine'ing ridges out(hard part), polish the lip , wetsand the rest, and finally spray, it was fun, it was a big accomplishment since im only 16, although i cant help you with your center caps, i keep mine off,

heres a pic of my ponies, someone post it for me
My polished lip ponies
by the way my lip looks more "chromier" now than when i took that pic, idk why, o and some advice, the more time you spend polishing the better it will look

Looks good. You should get some chrome center caps. And have the wheels re-balanced with stick-on weights instead of the lip weights for a cleaner look.
