Kind of a unique problem

I bought a 91gt not too long ago the paint was kind of faded and ugly though I wanted something to have fun with, I tried wet sanding a couple times and it didn’t really help same with buffing/polishing. Recently I scratched at the paint after it baking in the sun all day and it came off, I scratched some more off and realized the last guy who owned it shot spray paint over clear coat without scuffing the paint under the spray paint is very nice and I want something suggestions on how to remove it easier right now I’m using a heat gun and a shop towel but that taking forever,

Wd40 , gas or diesel.... Test on the areas where the wing was first, not a fun job. if it was real automotive paint and they didn't skuff it an air nozzle can help delamination, but spray bomb is all ways a pita. Chances are your going to find spots where the stock paint isn't in as good shape under it.. This was a mix of spray bomb, plastic dip, multiple parts swaps over the years and a :poo:ty repaint at some point. Entire car looked like the faded out flat black spray bomb you still see below the trim line. Not fun to do lol.
