Just like the title says. My rearend in in great shap, but has the ugly surface rust on it from being 20 years old. Anyone ever remove it, sandblast, and re-paint it? I have to do my U/L control armsa and springs soon anyway.

For 20 years old? Your rear end should be in great shape. Do you work your rear end very often???

I pulled mine out to build it up with 4.30 gears and all 31 spline stuff, new bearings/seals. I hit it with a wire brush to clean it, then I painted it black.

Hoodstrype, you're always great for a laugh bud. Thanks guys. I'd like to upgrade a lot on mine if I pull it, but I just bought a Tremec and funds are non-existent so I might just wait until I can do everything all at once. I'd like an Auburn posi, rear disc conversion, and everything upgraded to 31spline. Man I need to be rich

Once I saw a guy's rear end... it was in terrible shape but I cleaned it. Had to have been at least late 70's, ummm early 80's at most

Yup,and if you want to make it come out real nice, you can use the chemical stripper with the wire brush then sandpaper and washer it out good, air dry it,then paint it.

Moist whipes also work well, and probably a little more comfortable, especially if their warmed first
