Anyone ever replace their rubber e-brake trim with a leather boot?

My rubber trim around the ebrake where it goes into the console is falling apart, anyone ever found a way to put a leather boot on the ebrake without changing the entire console? Thanks

I heard remember a thread about putting a leather boot on it, I think it worked fine with a little modification.

EDIT: Here we go.

How much does a rubber boot cost? Atleast $40 if not more for a real leather one. So why not just spend $75 on a new console off ebay? U get the nicer boot plus cup holders that are actually useable. ( crapola ford engineer that designed ours)

I got a 03 cobra center console that i will be painting and installing shortly.

I got my leather boot (an oem part) off of eBay for I think $12. It looks okay, I need to go back and spend a little more time to make it perfect. I figure I'll re do it when I have my interior apart to recover my rear seats.

Danny had the same thought I did - I remember Patrick's bootie (get your minds out of the gutter. ). It looked nice.

Please post a link to that. I'll be tackling my interior next and that could be a pretty cool upgrade.

Nope. You might have something loose in there. Pull it off and check it.

ebay i think 01-04 are basically the same. 99-01 have the better cupholders compared to ours but its basically like ours...just with no ash tray. Instead the put in an insert for the cupholder. U can actually buy the insert, cut our stock console, and it would be just like the 99-01 im pretty sure. I like the 01-04 the most.

Mine does; it was a lot worse when I had no carpet or console in the car, but I still get it right around 1800-2000. Irritating as h*ll
