out of the place where its spot welded to the car. Well somehow i managed to and now it sits on the driveshaft. Its taking a nice chunk out of my driveshaft so i cant drive it until its fixed. I guess i can just take it to a shop and ask them to weld it back up to the body? I dont think that should cost too much, maybe 20 or 30 bucks. I cant just grind the brakcet down b/c it doesnt just rub a little, it literally sits on the driveshaft. Anyone had this happen before? And what did you do to fix it?

How do you mean you ripped the parking brake bracket out of the welds?

Do you mean you're e-brake handle/box is now hanging through the floor of the hump onto the drive shaft? I've never heard of anything like this. How did you come to find that this was the problem? Any noise coming from underneith the car, or the e-brake light stays on, etc etc. Please explain.

Thanks

no theres a bracket that holds the two cables where they turn into one. Its located in the trasmission tunnel under the car above the driveshaft. Its spot welded to the tunnel at three points. two of the points are on the back of the bracket towards the rearend. these two points broke and the third is still attached to the tunnel. When you pull the ebrake, the tension in the cable pulls the bracket down onto the drive shaft. Yes theres a loud grinding noise coming from under the car while accelerating. I relized it was the problem when i noticed it was eating right through my expensive driveshaft. Ill take pics this weekend, so you can see exaclty what it is

Sorry it took so long but here are the pics. This is after its been rewelded (obviously). The stock spot weld were underneath the bracket, so you can see then unless you remove the bracket.....
