you ahve to have a sealed battery box for it to be nhra legal. taylor and moroso both make them.

Edit: I have the summit relocation kit in my car right now, but Ive got a taylor box coming to my house via UPS right now.

I dont know if it's a requirement but some of the sealed boxes vent to the exterior.

I think that's at leats partially the reason why cars without firewalls between the driving compartment and the battery need a sealed and vented box.

For a hatch to have a NHRA legal battery in the trunk needs to have a secured, sealed box with a vent tube. I run the Moroso box, comes with everything and looks, works great.

PS: you also need a kill switch mounted to the outside.
