i was reading on some site to wled around the axle tube to the center pumpkin cause they can spin. Supposedly the plug weld which comes stock stock breaks. Im gonna do it when i do my rear suspension, just wondering if anyone here ever actually broke their rear like this

I haven't, but a friend of mine did. He was running 10s though and launching extremely hard. I think having them welded up is cheap insurance.

I have never heard of this so please excuse my ignorance.

Wouldn't the tube spinning indicate a problem with the bearings? It seems to me that this should not happen if all is well

youre tubes ar held by the rear controll arms. when you accelerate, your pumpkin wants to rotate cause its connected to your axles. the tubes want to stay still.

never broke one myself, but a good friend broke his, he was doing a brakestand with wrinkle wall slicks and all the sudden you here a loud crack and the tube had spun, the c clip broke, and the tube was half way out of the pumpkin, lesson learned? yeah i think so

Destroyed? Too bad. It looked to have potential.

Was there a reason in particular that the project was killed?

it was gonna be tons of work to finish that front, and i was ready to do it, but this 94 fell into my lap. so i stripped the coupe, and junked the body. i didnt figure anyone would want to complete the nose, so i junked that too
