Anyone ever strip the paint off your wheels

I have a pair of 9" bullitts that were painted to match my dark ones and they were chipping bad. So I stripped one of them and I am thinking of maybe leaving them just bare and shooting clear on them. here is a shot of one laid up against my car. What do you guys think? Has anyone done this?

i dont have bullitts, but i have cobra R's, the were powder coated red, then painted black over the powder caot, i stripped them to bare aluminum then clear coated them, it looked good, but sombody must have sanded one so it was duller then the rest, now there painter silver with clear.
