Like the title says, I need someone that has access to all data. I am in the middle of a warranty repair, & the warranty company is trying to screw me on the amount of labor hours... In the mitchell repair book, it states that the repair takes 14.4 hours, but the warranty company is stating that All data says the job takes 8.8 hours??? Sounds like B.S if you ask me... Never again will I buy a warranty!!!

Anyhow, if somebody has access, can you look up how many hours it takes to R&R the motor, & replace the driver side cylinder head on a 2003 Mach 1....

Thanks!!!

P.S: Sorry if this isn't considered tech?

sucks dude i work at a dealer and aftermarket warrenty companies are the worst to deal with they never pay dealers prices. most of the time they will only pay a certain labor rate usally 30 40 dollars less then the dealers rate. any way if this helps shopkey says it take 13.9

Thanks for the info guys...

I knew before I took the car to the shop that it was going to be a fight to get all the coverage. I have read the warranty form a million times, & I see what is, & isn't covered. Basically, the warranty company was overlooking 1 major part of the repair, which was REMOVING THE ENGINE... This is the standard procedure when removing a cylinder head on a 4 valve according to Ford, & every other manual out there...

Anyhow, I did get help from am member here on a local board who works for all data. It does say that the job takes 8.0 hours to remove the head, but at the bottom of the page it also says "after engine removal", which would add many more hours to the job. With this info in my posession, I called the warranty company & explained it to them, & got them to raise the labor hours to 13.9....

These companies will try to get over on the customer in any way they can, but you just have to play hardball with them & do your research

I'd have to check it at work tomorrow, but I can almost GUARANTEE the ext. warranty co is going by FORD warranty time. Factory warranty pays LESS time than standard book time. Alldata does in fact list both standard book time & factory warranty time.

The car was running like crap & had a strange vibration. Well it ended up having super low compression in 3 cylinders on the driver side. Anyhow, I took it to the local mustang specialist & got approval from my crappy aftermarket warranty company to get it diagnosed. Fast forward to the present, the motor is now out of the car, & we found that it had a few burnt exhaust valves on the left bank. So even though the warranty company stated they were going to cover the repair, including parts & labor, but they were trying to MAJORLY undercut the amount of hours allowed for the repair...

Anyhow, I got them to extend the labor time to 13.9 hours. We will see how this will play out & I will keep you guys posted...

you know im really surprised that they didnt rule it at as abuse, thats how they got out paying my waranty claim on my wifes 07' 300 touring with 22s. they stated that oversized wheels caused the wheel bearings to fail, i dropped the waranty company that day and currently in a battle to get the 3,000 some odd dollars back i payed to them over the last couple years.

Ford has a TSB on the 03/o4 heads. They have valve issues, valve seat issues, & cooling issues.

They really couldn't find aby reason to say its abuse, the motor is bone stock & since Ford has a major TSB on these heads involving cooling issues, & valve issues, it pretty much worked in my favor...
