Flows suck and sound like ****, h-pipes suck and sound like **** and magnaflows sound like ****. Except for magnapacks. Get some used long tubes that you can sell for the same price if you ever do the motor swap. Do you need the catted pipe for emissions reasons?

Everything sounds like **** except for what blackened likes. Threads over, everyone should have the same exhaust as him because everything else sucks!

If you like drone the new super 44's i have has tons of it..And im almost 39 yrs old if it to loud you must be old..LOL..I drive a mustang I want to be heard...IMO the car wouldnt sound/look right with no sound at idle or quiet at idle...I love loud exhaust THAT sounds Nice not loud and crappy sounding if you get my drift...

Next exhaust is for my 87 GT with GT40 heads and intake and supercharger I might go with an Off road X and spintechs...

Loud exhaust can sound good with the right setup. My 03 Mach has Mac LT's, O/R H, & a Bassani catback. IMO, it is pretty loud, but sounds great. With that being said, since I live in California, its not smart to be driving around with extremely loud car that is very far from smog legal like my Notch. Its just screams "pull me over, my car is NOT stock". Next thing you know, your getting sent to the state smog ref. Actually, they can impound your car out here if there are no cats on it... It sucks, but it is what it is...

I heard a h/c/i notch once with long tubes, an X pipe and flowmaster 10 series, that's the only time i've ever like the sound of flowmasters on a mustang. Otherwise, the only thing they're good for is ripping them off and wedging them behind your rear tires when your e-brake cable snaps.

Glad I don't live in Cali.

Not that MA is any better, but at least here, my car doesn't need to pass emmissions anymore. I still want to run cats anyway as i don't want to deal with the fumes and excessive loudness. I don't really want a loud ass car...i just want it to sound good.

My car has flows on it. I hate them! It's going to have magnaflows on it in the spring and I hate them too! Maybe I just hate everything

So lucky that you don't have to go through emissions. But the cats definitely will cut down on the fumes. My car never smelled at all when it had the cats on it.

My car has a O/R X with flows on it. Its a love/hate thing. It sounds like a race car with the loud, raspy tone, which I like sometimes, but it makes the car impossible to hold a conversation in when you have company. I find myself yelling half the time, haha.

I'm to the point now where I think the only cars that should be noisy all the time are race cars. When I change my exhaust next time, I'm going with cats and quieter mufflers. Something that lets you know the car means business when you accelerate, but doesn't wake up the neighbors when you try to sneak the car into the garage at 3AM. No sense in a street car leaving your ears ringing and clothes stinking like unburnt fuel... Especially if its a slow-ass E6-head car like mine.

IMO x for straight through mufflers like magnaflows and H for chambered mufflers. When you mix them up it seems to work against each other. The only exception to this i think are Mac mufflers which to me sound better with an x. Flows get that hillbilly truck pop and crackle sound when you let off the gas and i cant stand that. Thats just my opinion but its based on 6 years of swapping out probably an average of 2 exhaust setups a year and im about to swap again.

BBK or MAC headers, as far as longtubes go they dont hang real low and are pretty easy to install compared to the hassle my bassanis are. Dont buy a cheap x-pipe, i had a BBK on my car and it rattled like a tin can from 2500 to about 3000. I'd go BBK longtubes with a true style x-pipe, like two pipes cut and welded together, not like the "x" that BBK uses. My friends got MAC headers, no name x pipe and flowmasters... definitly sounds like a mustang, but his has a cleaner more raspy sound, dosent really make sense but it does, and chambered mufflers and x pipes do work.

you guys hate magnaflows? wow...

i get NOTHING but compliments on mine. ford guys, chevy guys, doesn't matter. i have bbk equal length, o/r h-pipe, and magnaflow catback with 3.5" tails.

no drone inside the car (why i got rid of flowmasters), fairly mild noise while cruising and screams at WOT.

Same here. I think its just because every stang fanboy wants flowmasters cause they have always heard it. I have heard almost EVERY kind there is and would NEVER run anything other than flows on my car. I did like the sound of Bassani as well, but Magnaflows for me any day. I get compliments ALL the time. Exhaust is always subjective though....
