Anyone have an X-pipe with Flows??

mikeeeee i just read this thread now..... I am about to take a vid of my car.. are u interested??? its mostly stock.. BBK Lts.. offroad x... 2 chamber flows... i think ull like the sound...

Sure, i love to hear other guys cars.

Unfortunately I think i'm gonna go with the Magnaflow catted H-pipe. The deciding factor? Cost. The H-pipe is $399 and the X pipe is something like $560!!

I was gonna go LT's too, but my requirements would be ceramic coated headers and cats...so any combo is gonna run me $850+ or so.

I'll prob just pick up a set of ceramic coated FMS shorty headers for my P heads and call it a day.

Its always costly, but yes I run the flows cause I think they have done a ton of research. I remember when 5.0 dyno tested like 13 mufflers and the Magnaflows made the most power which I believe is what we like!

Yeah i have that article but they didn't test any other glasspack mufflers did they? I know the Bullets weren't in there and Pypes didn't exist yet. Plus the Flowmaster muffler was a huge truck muffler which was pretty stupid.

I think you are remembering correctly. I havent had any personal hands on experience with installing any of the ones you mentioned except for pypes and the flows and I can say I like the quality of the flows best of the two.

I'm about to buy my buddy's well seasoned Mac catback and swap it on for the summer. I'm still keeping my Magnaflows though for sure, but i can't wait to get the Macs back on. They sound so nasty with a rowdy cam. Vids to come :nice:

Hye guys why not Spintechs???? I dont see many guys running them I had them on a few different cars and they were bad ass sounding....I still might go with spintech on my 87 gt...So far i have BBK shortys,Bassani X-pipe with High flow cats ...soon to be gutted...and i am so confussed on what cat back...My car is going to have GT40 heads,GT40 Intake and a Paxton supercharger...should be making a little over 300hp or so ....Any suggestions?

I'll give Spintechs a shot if i ever score them used, they just want too damn much for them for my taste. I only have $50 in my Magnaflow catback through a very strange trade, otherwise i wouldn't own them either. Guess i'm cheap. Plus a few clips i've heard they kinda sound like open exhaust under load which i don't know if i like.

I heard a h/c/i notch once with long tubes, an X pipe and flowmaster 10 series, that's the only time i've ever like the sound of flowmasters on a mustang. Otherwise, the only thing they're good for is ripping them off and wedging them behind your rear tires when your e-brake cable snaps. :D

:nice: i love my 10 series but the 40's series was just too boring for me

EDIT: H-Pipe FTW

Not a big deal...that was more of a joke than anything really. You can continue.

I think I'm decided on the Magnaflow catted H with my flows...anyone have a clip of that??

Which flows are you getting?...the older 40 series or the new super 44's...From what i was told by a very very very awesome exhaust shop he does all my work...the newer super 44's sound like crap with an H pipe he said to use an X pipe in front of them the design of the super 44's are NOT the same as the older 40's...hope that helps...
