Anyone have any feedback on 13" rear brakes??

Mustang5L5, are you looking for street brakes or racing brakes? I'll go out on a limb here and bet he's looking for street brakes.

On my '03, i'm just lookinh for street brakes. Something that will fill up the rear wheel well so it doesn't look puny back there.

I already have Cobra 4-wheel disks on my '88, so i'm no stranger to disk brake conversions and the different setups available.

I'm aware that a 11.65" vented rotor would stand up to abuse better than a 13" solid rotor 1/2" in thickness. But, in order to install cobra rear disks, i need to pull the axles. Now i know it's no big deal since i've done it before, but i just don't want to get that involved with this car. I liked the idea of bolting on a bracket and just sliding the rotor on and that's the end of it.

I figure just the 13" fronts alone will help out. My car is pretty much a commuter car, and i've had to stop hard a few times thanks to Boston drivers.

Reason i was asking about this particular setup was really just to fill the rear wheels up just in case i go to an 18" wheel. But i was just inquiring if these rotors will stand up to daily driving, and if they will help out braking even a tiny bit and how the bias would be on my GT with unadjusted proportioning. WOuld the ABS compensate enough tat i would never feel any difference in bias.

Two things...........

1) I believe Roush Stage 3, 360R, and 380R's all have 13'' rear brakes. You may want to contact them about their kit and maybe they can answer any questions you may have.

2) Cobra brakes aren't that great believe it or not. It seems a few of you think they are great. They are good for about one good high speed stop. After that, they aren't any good until they cool down again. And don't ask me how I know, lol.
