How come nobody ever bothers to include the year and model of the car they're asking questions about?

Doesn't matter in this case, because you're not going to get a whole new wiring kit for $500 unless you weave the harnesses yourself, from bulk wire spools.

TSW,

Summit lists the harness for 580 + their handling charge, so I doubt you'll ever see it close to $500 since Summit usually has close to the lowest prices.

Good luck though

build your own... you can probably get 20 spools of wire that are different colors and build your own cheaper

$200 is an excellant price, if the wires are good quality. Thats the biggest problem with what I see at swap meets. Crappy wire just creates more problems.

I would look into a ron francis wire works harness . I installed one in my 66 conv. The kit comes with colored & labled wires every 6". It has a nice size fuse panel that is color coded to the wires for easy hookup and very complete and easy to follow instructions. I got mine for just over 400.00 about a year ago .I have seen some of the ez wire kits they look ok but the wire works harness is a step above it IMO. SEE it at www.wire-works.com
