Last weekend I installed a set of H&R sport springs(not super sport). The advertised drop is 1.6" in the front and 1.5" in the back. Well the back dropped exactly 1.5 but the front did not drop at all. Middle of the fender height before and after was 27.5". I checked. re-checked and checked again and coundn't find anything installed wrong.

Edited

I am dissapointed. I have read good things about H&R and I hope they will come thru. Anyone else ever have problems. Any ideas. Thanks

Post your pictures here...

I have Supersports and did not have any problems. All your springs should have the model number printed on them. I would check to make sure the fronts are the correct ones first. Then I would check that your front springs are seated in the lower "cups" correctly. Then I would check that your upper isolators on your front springs are seated correctly too.

Other than that, I'd be suprised to find that you had a bad set of springs from H&R...

BTW: What mustang do you have (yr/model)? Which spring (model number) did you put in? (Mine were the 51658-77)

Did you by chance put caster/camber plates on with this install...or change to a different shock?

So the actual springs in the front are stamped 51650...?

BTW: my front height was 28.5" BEFORE my drop. Are you sure yours wasn't too? 27.5" would be a 1" drop which would be close to right.

Is your rear lower than your front?

Let's see a picture of that.

In the before picture, the top of the tire looks like its at 24", and in the after picture it looks like its at 25". Also in the after picture, the space between the tire and fenderwell looks a lot smaller. Are you sure you measured it the same way, cause I know your tire didn't get bigger.

Re HR sport spring prob

I had the same problem with my 02 GT. MM tech no help at all. Finally got tired of the lame look and just took out the front spring isolators. Made a huge difference and didn't affect ride at all. Be better if you simply returned the sports and go for the race or super sports. Wish I did. Less body roll. Good luck.

Yours has some rake, mine doesn't.
The measurement is the same the camera angle is different and at the top they both say 27.5". Nothing else was changed, everything is in right. And from what I understand H&R springs don't settle. Thanks

Get some super sports! There a great spring and dropped my car exactly what it said it would and maybe even a lil lower, but I love them. Taking thse windy backroads to my cottage is a lot more fun!
