Since my distributor is now crapping out metal shavings (see other thread), its time for a new one. Anyone have recommendations on what brand to go with or have a P/N? I want one that doesn't require a box, since I can't afford both right now. Thanks for any suggestions.

It may be a bit pricey, but MSD is quality stuff...

I got the MSD pro-billet one....real nice unit, but they are a little more $$$.As far as a part number....I would call like summit or jegs and make sure you get the right one for our cars....I ordered one from the catalog guide and it came as one for a fox body, the rep said they would get the catalog changed but I dont know if they did.

Don't the MSD ones require an MSD box as well?

Nope. I have the MSD Pro Billet and I don't have an MSD box. The distributor is a direct replacement.

I went with Performance Distributors:

http://www.performancedistributors.com/5.0ignition.htm

The distributor made a BIG difference over stock. The stock one would lose a bit of power towards the end of the power curve, but this one pulls hard all the way. I also got their Screamin' Demon Coil at the same time.

Great. Got a part number?

EDIT: Is MSD-8455 the correct part number? (121-8455 in Jeg's).
