2008 I believe they fixed the wheather strippping in the door.......so it does not destroy your window tint. Part# ?

I don't know the Ford part number but I know some guys are using moleskin instead you can look at them on tintprotector.com. $29.95 is their price. Not sure what Ford would run you. DarkFireGT just got his done he could probably fill you in on the installation side of it.

Here, I found a post for them, I think these are right. I've been meaning to order some myself, but just haven't yet

Yeah, not sure what the part number is. I just went ahead and did the moleskin from tintprotector.com. I'm sure it's a lot cheaper, and then you don't have to pull the channel out. Just pull the door panel back enough to get the moleskin on. It's pretty straight forward. Just take out some screws, pop the door panel up and out a bit, put the moleskin on, and pop it back in.

Ford changed the weatherstriping on the car so the doors close easier. I noticed that on the 2008-up doors, the windows don't quite squish the seals. On my 07 GT, the seals get squished quite a bit. My driver's door cannot close by itself without extra force due to the thickness of the seals, but the upside is that it makes for a quiet interior.

I bought some Moleskin from that place that was selling it cheap and supposedly donated the profit to a charity someone posted a while back. I used it on my girlfriend's 2006 and a week later they both let loose and glue ended up all over the windows.

8r3z-6321457-a $21.05 + s/h
8r3z-6321456-a $18.95 + s/h

Their 20% s/h estimate comes out to about $8.

I've ordered a metric buttload of parts from Yocum via their web site in the past and have been 100% satisfied:

I bought those parts (Ford) from my dealer and installed them last summer. I have some "scratches" on my tint...but you can't see them from the outside. It's more of an "abrasion"...as it doesn't cut through the tint. On the passenger side there's a "scratch' that's like, 2.5-3.0 inches wide...in the middle of the window. Wow. The other scratches are hairline scratches. None cut through the tint completely.

I think it's prevented any further damage. I wish I woulda done this BEFORE getting the tint installed.

Was the damage caused before or after the new stripping?

Is there a how-to on how to swap out the stock channel pieces for the 08 w/ the moleskin from the factory? I don't have tinted windows but I DID notice the stock channels were scratching the stock solar tint glass. I'd like to put an end to that ASAP since it would only cost less than $50 to do the swap. I'm not confident the moleskin I buy would stay adhered for a long period of time.

I installed my moleskin a couple days before I tinted the windows on my 07 GT... I have ZERO scratches. My old black 07 GT had scratches all over the tink without the Moleskin. It works really well. Been about a year and a half now.
