theres 2 for front end noises that i know of, 1 is for a creaking while turning, originally thought to be bad rack bushings but tsb says its a p/s bracket. Then theres the crunching noise thats new control arms with revised bushings

Well this sounds like a small clunk in my front pass wheel when i hit a bump. I can only hear it with the windows down but it annoys the hell out of me.

It's probably the control arm clunk. Anyone have a TSB number for that?

Maybe this is what I have been looking for. Have had a noise since I bought the car, seems to happen mostly in cooler/cold weather and after the car has been sitting awhile. As soon as I move the stearing wheel or go to pull out, I hear a loud clunk from front passenger side.

here you go

2003-2004 Mustang - Front Suspension Noise

Some 2003-2004 Mustangs may exhibit a squeaking or crunching noise from the front suspension while driving over bumps or braking. This may be caused by the lower control arm bushings. To service, replace both lower control arms per workshop manual section 204-01. For LX vehicles, replace with XR3Z-3078-AA (Right Side) and XR3Z-3079-AA (Left Side). For GT vehicles, replace with XR3Z-3078-BA (Right Side) and XR3Z-3079-BA (Left Side). For Cobra/Mach vehicles, replace with 2R3Z-3078-AA (Right Side) and 2R3Z-3079-AA (Left Side). After replacing the control arms, check aligment and adjust if necessary. Verify that the noise is eliminated.

Symptom Code on Ford's OASIS is under 30400-Chassis Suspension System

I'm hearing a similar noise in my GT, right front as well. I don't hear much outside the car (probably because of the Steeda and all the screaming people...) but I can hear it through the chassis. Not a major one...it's subtle but definitely there.

But mine's an 02 and it isn't a crunchy/squeaking noise. It's a mechanical thunk. Hard to believe control arm bushings at 25K miles...

i have a clunk too.. i can hear while going over bumps at low speeds, or just turning the wheel and not even moving..

think its my control arm bushings?

I have THAT too . The funny thing is my GT is a 2004 :bang: :fuss:
I took it to FORD 3 times on warranty. They greased it and , noise was gone for 2 days...and after THAT :fuss: it came back again. I'm soooooooo sick of it. I really wanna burn my car down. When I turn the wheel while the car is not moving I can hear that clicking noise.
<------------ Help needed here too.
if you guys solve your problem with this. Please help me with you :nice:

so by replacing both lower control arms the sound should vanish!??
okay anyone who will do this , please PM with the resault, so i will go and demand they change them , even though they dont wanna spend money , they keep telling me " OH, it just needs bolt tightening and some grease" A$$ holes :fuss:
keep me posted guys .
thx

well i didnt replace my control arms but i did replace the bushings and balljoints with steeda pieces and the slight noise i was having is gone.

I just got my car back from the dealer for that noise and they said it was due to my aftermarket suspension and the steeda tie rod ends...

they said the rack brackets were damaged.
they greased it, and the noise is gone for now.

i might try some offset rack bushings to see how that helps.
