After completing the install of my Bassani X pipe and Magnaflow Magnapacks I checked for leaks and found two on both sides where the packs slip onto the pipes leading from the x pipe. Tightened down the clamps some more and rechecked. After about 4 hours of ****ing around with it I finally found that the Magnapacks were leaking from the back, where the pipe is pressed into the muffler. To fix it got some muffler putty and smeared it on both packs and it seems to have worked. dont know how long this will last though. I am very p*&$ed and want to know if anyone else has had this problem?

yea those clamps are not very dependable.. At first I saw some exhaust dripping.. then I went in and readjust my X pipe b/c it was too low and fixed it.

Buy some HD clamps from autozone, the ones with the kit are junk. Must be made of recycled Kia's or Hyundais or something of that quality. Mine broke on installing.

Hey guys....its not the clamps...its the mufflers...I understand.....

are they both doing it or just one?

They might both do it slightly when they are cold, because as stainless gets warmer, it expands, so there is some tolerance built into the packs for this, meaning that when they warm up, there are no leaks.....

After the stainless expands several times, it will not contract completely anymore....

part of the reason why we always suggest retightening the system after a week of driving.....and a good idea for any stainless system other then ours as well

The clamps on my packs' also broke on install, I had to take it to a exhaust shop to get my whole system welded.
