I had taken my stock radio out but have now put it back in, but now it lights up and says playing but no music will come through speakers, someone told me it might neeed to be reset with a code or something. Its a 2004 gt and now im just out of ideas cause its hooked up correctly, does anyone know if there is a code and what it is or where i can find it, i posted this in audio section but i was hoping more people would see it here and help me out. Thank you.

radio

There may be a reset code involved. I'd talk to a dealer.

Have not had your problem but the stock radio, cd changer are bad news.
I have an 03 GT and 11 months later after I bought it, the thing went
whacko.... In my case hitting the eject cd button, nothing happened and
the light on the display said cd error blah blah. I tried unhooking the battery
to reset the computer but to no avail. Since it was under warranty, I said
the heck with this, and had Ford slip in a new unit at no cost. BTW, they
told me panasonic makes the radio/cd changers in our cars. Good luck.

First off just put the stock back in if you take it to ford don't tell them you had it out. But you may want check a few things first, if it says it is playing it is playing, there is no code for mustang radios. Is it the mach system? If so there is 3 plugs that need pluged in, did you get all of these pluged in? Let me know how many plugs you have behind your deck, could be something simple like a missing plug or a pin that came out of the plug. good luck Dan

I only have one big plug behind the radio. Is there supposed to be like, a stock amp or anything behind there? Cause im thinkin the guy that installed my other radio had took alot of the stuff out, because i had to have the wires all re done becasue the guy cut them all. He was an idiot and has everything messed up. I only have one plug behind it but i have a little plastic thing that almost looks like a fuse that goes in it that he cut out and sat in the cupholder a long time ago, and it has cut wires on bottom taht i also found on back of cd player but we just crimmped them together and didnt put plug back. Cause this plug doesnt look like it goes anywhere back there unless he cut out something that goes with it.

CUT WIRES = S__T

Who hacked up the car it was a previous owner i take it? Or someone who installed it? No Mach system in your car? Sounds like someone did not use a harness when installing the aftermarket unit, which explains why you have no sound, your speaker leads are not connected, if you have a non mach system that one harness has everything you need look at it and see if some of the wires are cut and not connected. I would reccomend you take it to a stereo shop and have them put a new harness on there for you, not too hard to do and then your stock deck will will work and then if you ever go aftermarket again no cutting but a harness. Good luck Dan
