hey guys, i usually post in the classics forum, but i figure you 5.0 guys have a bigger knowledge base on this stuff as your cars came stock with them. i hear people all over the place saying that "a G-force T5 is the way to go, they can handle 600 ft/lbs, better than a TKO, in the end its still a T5"..blah blah blah. but then i've never actually ran into anyone who's actually USED one. can anyone give a first hand account as to what theirs is holding up to?

thanks

right now i'm running a basically stock 66 mustang with a 289, and a stock t5 sitting next to it in the garage awaiting install. curious if i should go TKO or Gforce if/when my t5 takes a dump.

yeah...i didnt say anything cuz i didnt want to be one botherin you with no real experience with the trans...but he likes it. he has the straight cut version which i was debating on putting in with my new motor. but from what he said theres no way i will. he said you have to shift at the exact right rpms and even when you do it bangs and slaps in gear like somethings falling apart or blowing up. he loves it at the track but would never drive it on the street daily, which i need to do.

I've only read a couple of threads about the G-force. Seems like the guys that had gotten them had just installed them, and were waiting to see how they held up. Most were reluctant to go with one, since as you said, it's still a T5. The Tremec is a proven piece, so it seems a safer bet. I hope you get some responses from G-force users, because it sure seems like a good way to go if they will really take the power. Good luck!
