If you don't like it.. post the combo that you have and decribe or post sound clips. This might help many people out there that is still deciding on the exhaust that they want while staying away from the bad sounding ones that other people have experiences..

This might be difficult if everyone describes their exhaust sounds as either "good" or "bad". What's good for one person could be bad for another. We should probably describe the exhaust sounds as either high pitched and raspy like a European sports car or throaty like a classic American Muscle car, or somewhere in between.

I hated the stock system. It was removed at 600 miles.

I like the tone of the stock system, just a little more growl and rumble and a lot of louder. The Borla Stinger sounds amazing on a '03-'04 cobra, I just hope it sounds as good on a GT.

i hate stock. the word even leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I went with o/r H pipe and american thunder. love it. gives good sound and noticed increased throttle response and all around gains. makes it extra fun to mash the loud pedal.

I love my Borla Stinger cat-back, but I haven't installed my 4.10's yet.

Been too busy, but I'm hoping to have them installed within a week. Toggled my overdrive button on and off a few times to get the RPM's up closer to what the 4.10's will be like...and I think the lower gear ratio is going to make cruising around with my Stingers a whole lot louder.

I hate my Dynomax mufflers. They aren't loud enough. Time for a prochamber

If you get dynomax's they are a little bit louder/deeper/throatier than stock but still not loud as flows. Get an o/r x/h-pipe something!

I don't really care for my Mac system. I've got Mac 1 5/8 unequals, O/R custom Bassani X-pipe, and 2 1/2 Flowpath Catback. Don't get me wrong. It sound mean and has a nice growl to it, but at times I find it a little loud and I'm really sick of the drone.

My next V8 will have 3-chamber 50-series Flows.

I hated the 2000 rpm drone from my MRT catted mid-pipes and Magnaflow cat-back. Then I installed side-branch resonators I read about over at Corral Forums. They killed the drone. Now I have a nice throaty growl that howls nicely at WOT.

Hate my exhaust

When I bought the car it had a Bassani o/r X and Flowmaster 40s. It was ok at first but the rasp got on my nerves. WOT and idle are awesome but that's not where it is when I drive home from work.

I got rid of the Flows and had some Summit Turbos welded in based on a post on the Corral. Claims were that there's no drone. Well there isn't. It's quieter but the rasp is EVEN WORSE! That is not a misprint. I said the rasp is worse than Flowmasters! I hate it. It broke my heart when I fired it up and the owner of the shop I had weld them in just shook his head "No".

Next up, Dynomax Super Turbos(on the shop's recommendation and only after I get to hear a car that has the same x-pipe w/those mufflers) or FRPP catback.

Not to hijack the thread either, but does anyone have a full bassani competition exhaust? If so can I get a sound clip?

stay away from the slp loudmouth and the upr offroad xpipe..it sounds like ass..im actually selling my slp loudmouth..ive had it on since feb..$250+ shipping if anybody is interested....the loudmouth by itself is awesome..but paired with the upr pipe it sucks..so im just gonna get some flows..nothing was welded on the SLP..so its as good as new.

On other cars/motors I've heard Mac systems that sound very, VERY ricey, so I'm quite wary of those. I tend to lean toward the more docile sound, so (as someone mentioned previously) I'm strongly considering the Flowmaster cat-back system with the three chamber mufflers. I don't mind the stock note but I wouldn't mind something throatier and MANDREL BENT is GOD. I hate looking under my car and seeing the kinked piping they threw on stock. I'd love to read some more suggestions on note for different aftermarket systems.

Also, anyone have dynos for these different systems on a stock 2v 4.6 99+? (I hope that pertains enough to this thread to warrent me saying it here)

I had a Magnaflow magnapack kit and a bbk o/r x at my house a week befor I even baught my car, killed my performance with no backpressure, awesome WOT though or curising at 2500 in first sounded like a jet, got the regular magnaflow catback and cleared everything up for me, but now California emissions are forcing me to get some cats under there, going with the magnaflow I think

If you hate your exhaust, it's most likely you have a Magnaflow style muffler and/or x-pipe. Stick with what's proven, Flowmasters and H-pipe. Many have dumped their Magnaflow stuff for this traditional combo and are loving it.

I'm glad I did it right the first time.
