Now that I have moved to Florida I am gonna buy a Waverunner to park next to the Mustang. I have a truck with a hitch but think I might tow it with the Mustang. Anyone install one?

I installed a hitch on my 2000 GT but I did a google search and it appears that hitches for the 2005 are not yet available.

I'd recommend making one yourself. I'd also recommend picking up anything other than a mustang if you want to tow... but what do i know, i have mudflaps.

I'd suggest a Boxster, Audi 4 or a BMW 5 series as an alternate towing vehicle. They're very popular in Germany for pulling schnitzel carts.

DO NOT turn your Mustang into a tow vehicle!

My thoughts too! But if you must, I'd make sure you get one of those hitches that is easily hidden/removed. But being as you've also got a truck....naah, don't do it! Use the truck, thats what it's for!

If anyones ever been to the racetrack, NOT the dragstrip, its quite common to see 140K Porsches with a hitch. They tow race tires and spare parts. My 32K Mustang ain't made outta gold.

I towed a 16' aluminum boat with a 70 hp motor. Total weight about 1300 lbs. Most of the time I used a Mazda Tribute but the Mustang worked fine when I needed it. I probably towed the same boat 10,000 miles with my '88 5.0. I just bought a new boat that weighs about 2200 lbs. and I will NOT be using the Mustang for towing.

You must hang with the more destitute racers. The Porsche racer I know trailers his car and parts and pulls it all behind a Ford F-250!

Actually, the non-destitute Porsche racers are using Cayennes these days as a tow vehicle. They're rated for 7700 lbs.

looking for hitch

I'm looking for a hitch too.

I was hoping to see what it would look like installed.

I don't need anything elaborate, just want something to tow around my aluminum boat.

I don't have a truck or a winter beater, or a mule to tow my boat. I have my wonderful stang.
