i installed an eclipse 5435 and the install went great....only problem is that i can not hook up the speed sensor wire because ( i was told by a stereo installer local company) that my 05 mustang has something called a "CAN BUS" system and needs some really expensive adapter to be able to hook up the wire....

anyone have any solutions besides this, or where to get one cheaper and do yourself...

thanks

the factory stereo harness has a grey/black wire that is the speed signal used for the speed sensitive volume. My nav unit didnt need to be tapped to a speed signal.

Standing in front of the car....top plug on the PCM. Remove the cap on the top plug, it is the blue wire with yellow tracer on the left side. Tap into this wire for VSS. AVIC411.COM is the master for Pioneer units.

I have the Z1 in my GT and did not bother with the VSS. Use the NAV all the time, the VSS is not required on the Pioneer units.

Good luck.
