an 87...should be the same as the 89 and 91 iv had..u have to completly remove your dash bezel. Srews to remove it should be...2 screws near the windshield, two below where your knees are when your driving(near fuse box), could be more, cant rememeber. Iv never changed a tach out, but iv had the speedo apart in both. Shouldnt be hard, everything is acessable once its apart from the dash, good luck.
