Hey guys,

I've been reading a lot lately about tranny swaps and found a great deal on a 4R70W. I bought one out of an 03 3.8 mustang with 13K on Saturday for $99. It looks brand new and came complete with the torque converter. The place was called Saw Mill Auto Wreckers in Yonkers NY (800) 227-1111. I'm not sure if they ship parts but they have about 9 others and they're selling them for $99 each. I found them using www.car-part.com. Worth a call if you're looking for one.

Funny this came up.... normally I might think about it. My transmission buddy, just said he has an extra low mileage one at his shop. So if I make his rebuild explode, we have a back up already.

But heck of a deal!

Anybody know about this swap? What is necessary to make it work? Will the 3.8l TC work? Are the electronics in the 94/5 computer compatible? Sounds like I should start a thread.

Don is VERY helpful!! He took the time to answer and explain any questions or concerns I had. When I'm ready, I'll definitly be calling him to burn a chip for me to make this work.

Yeah but I'm still cleaning tranny fluid from the back of my wifes Grand Cherokee so I think it would be detrimental to my health if I picked up another one...LOL

Hey, if it helps some of you guys save some $$ then great. The guy I talked to said they were selling them cheap because he had too many.
