I have gone through 3-4 NPD plastic handles in the 7 or 8 years I've had this car, and its getting tiresome replacing them every time I snap a handle off. Does anyone make a stronger handle? If not, does anyone have a fairly easy method for making one?
In my experience, there has been improvement in the last few years. For example, repro doors used to be useless. Now, with a little tweaking, they are quite useable.
I realize this is a completely legit conversation about parts.
However, part of me wants to laugh my ass off as you describe pulling on the shaft with two fingers.....

One thing that I did was to drill and tap the parking brake shaft. Now when I break another parking brake handle all I have to do is unscrew a screw, pull it off, install the new handle and replace the screw.
I agree about the repro brake handles being kinda crappy. I have broken about 4 of them too. I want to know why they don't make them like the original with metal inside.
