My car is currently in the body shop having some minor rust spots fixed and having passenger side front fender replaced (after a run in with the wall at the track... DOH!!) and my body guy suggested "refreshing" the look of my car by painting the mirrors, black trim around the doors and quarter windows trim, as well as the cowl vent the same color as the car. He said he'd paint all that for an extra 300 or so. I told him I'd get back to him... has anyone done this or have pics of how it might look?

Here is how my car looks now:

I say keep the window moldings , and cowl vent black. I would only paint the door handles body color. Otherwise keep it all black.

Please keep it black, body color door trim and mirrors never look right.

Body color cowl vents are nice, just as long as you keep the section closest to the windshield black to match the molding.

looks too redneck if it's painted all the same color. I say keep all trim, cowl, etc, factory black, unless you want it to look cheap.

edit: I was thinking of repainting all trim / cowl, etc... semi-gloss or gloss black -- I think some guys say it stands out too much, but I haven't seen pics. Red car BTW

Looks awesome.. I might do that set up or something similar... also are those the molding covers that Late Model resto sells around the quarter windows?

Definite possibility here....

you've all helped me decide that repainting black most, if not all, of the trim is going to look best. THANKS!!!!

I would keep the trim black. Just go to the auto store and pick up some black duplicolor trim paint and sand them with some 320 or 400 and paint them. If your quarter windows are pitted from the sun or old age tape of that section of the car and sand a little and prime it in with a gun if you have one or even rattle can it, sand and repeat untill smooth than spray with trim paint. Thats what I did and it looks factory.

Leave it all black. At most you could paint the handles, mirrors and cowl but definitely keep the window moldings black.
