With all the talk of the "GT", I was wondering if anyone actually wanted the V6 version or will the dealers have a bunch of new unsold Mustangs?

They will sell the V6 mustangs. Im sure it has more appeal to people than the 99-04 V6 Mustangs did, and those mustangs sold (sell) quite well. Anyways it would be nice to see that at least 90% of the mustangs rolling out of Detriot had V8s... it will be more like 50% unfortunately

Dealer order info said more like 32% V8's.
Expect the pre-orders and early cars to run higher V8's, but long term they're saying 2/3 of 05 stangs will be the lobotimized V6's.

How can you go from a Mach 1 to a V6?

Does anyone know if you can get 17"s on the V6?

i don't think as many people will order the V6 as the GT, but when they are in dealers im pretty certain that most of the new stangs you see rolling around on the road will be V6es. Just about all i see around here are V6es

Since they are only a few months away from production, I'd say wait. Don't see any real advantage in pre-ordering. Unless your life depends on getting the very first 05 in town.

I say if you need/want it soon then order it. It might take a bit for them to be on lots and then if you do see one you it is most likely not going to be what you would want and have to order it anyhow.

If you notice most of the V6 drivers are either kid that can't aford the v8 or don't respect the fact that the mustang is a muscle or don't know the difference between 6 and 8. Or you see a lot of women driving them too. No offence to anyone about that.

But I am with phatboysh, It would be nice to see more v8 mustangs cause it has to live up to the fact that its muscle car. But whatever brings money then thats the way it goes. just my $0.02

Well, I would love to have a v8. I am all about fast, muscle cars! The only thing is that before I decided I wanted the 05 mustang, my dad was asking some dealers about the 2004 mustang mach 1 because that's what I wanted, but unfortunately some (obviously not so good) salesman told him I would kill myself in a GT and that's how I ended up with only being allowed to get a v6. Oh well though, I am still excited because the 2005 mustangs look awesome!

2 days ago, two teens were caught up on radar going at 170 mph in their mustang. One minute later, the driver lost control in an exit ramp and rollover a few times. Both survived the crash.

Look there's no !?"!&?& reason to give to a teenager a Mustang with a V8..
a V4 is enough.. I wish Ford will make V4 in the future for those who don't know how to drive and are way too young to drive mustangs..

Period.. When I was 18 (long time ago), I put my money in going to university... it paid.. I can buy a ferrari today if I want.. and I have nothing to compensate by buying a V8...

I've driven V8 Mustangs since I was 16. It's all about maturity. You gotta learn to respect the car very early otherwise it will get you in trouble.

Now would i buy my future son a v8 Mustang....i doubt it. Actually it would never happen anyway because no way would I ever buy my kids a brand new car when they get their lisence. That just sends the wrong message.

Sounds to me like the problem was the stupidity of going too fast. If the story had said "two middle-aged women", would the moral be the same?

What. You can't say that about people just because they are a teen. I am 16 and I hate all the stupid punk kids that think they are so cool drinving around in there rice or muscle car peeling out every time they come to a stop. And that do 80mph over just cause they can. They give the teens that are maturity that know how to respect the power. And my dad is one of those people that think if he sees a wreck and there is a kid that the kid was driving and it annoys the crap out of me. And he thinks that if I have a powerful car that I will automaticly wreck.
