I was looking at KYB Gas-A-Just Shocks and Struts at LRS and was wondering if they're any good. I was wanting to get the kit with the quad shocks. I can't spend much and these are in my price range.

Also, I can't decide if I should do lowering springs at the same time. I was wanting something like a 1" drop, but then I didn't want to have to buy plates and a bumpsteer kit. I know nothing about suspension so any input would be great.

Thanks for any help!

Those Shocks and Struts are Mediocre ,they do the job.But..nothing Special.I do not believe with only a 1" drop, that you absolutely have to get the Plates.
It would be a good idea in the long run though.:)

I have them and they are the roughest riding shock / strut combo possible. The stock worn out stuff was better. Never again will I buy this brand.

Yes, they were cheap and that is why I bought them as my budget didn't allow for a better brand at the time. If you have to buy something again then it really isn't cost effective in the long run.

They are about as cheap as you can go for a performance shock/strut. I would say they are better than a gabrial or something else, and they are firm and do their job very well, they just make the vehicle ride a bit rougher.

Not bad for the money.

Thanks for the imput, guys. Those shocks/struts sound a bit disapointing. I still have the original shocks/struts, but for being 17 years old with 72,000 on them the car rides pretty well. I am wanting to make it ride and handle better tho.

I just put them on mine along with the upr k/coil over/a arm kit. Everyone else is right. They are firm but I like them. On first drive I noticed a huge difference over stock. Over all for the money not a bad set of shocks/struts. I definetly don't regret running them.

My experience with Fox shocks, I started out with the Strange adjustable shocks. My main complaint was they were very noisy, made my car sound even more like a bucket of bolts. I decided I would go for the KYB adjustables, they were quieter but I'm still disappointed. I've tried every setting on them and they still feel very jittery over irregular surfaces. Isn't that what shocks should get rid of ? Guess I will either go for some Termi or Bullitt shocks next time, but I have even toyed with the idea of going to an air suspension to get a decent ride out of this car.
