Any PI GT's running nitrous express system with somthing mild, like a 50 dry shot? I'm looking for some info on how much it would improve the 1/4 mile time of a nearly stock 04 GT automatic. Also, with somthing mild like 50 dry, would I need to retard my timing?

50 shot is pretty safe and you can use your stock plugs and timing. This is true upto about a 100 shot.

Take a look at the Venom 1000 dry kit. It is an extremely safe kit. Works great with stock fuel system and you can drive all day with a 50 lb shot. Just be sure to add a window switch too. The Venom kit monitors your O2 sensor for rich/lean conditions and pulses your fuel injectors accordingly. The kit sells for $699, but I know where you can get it for $550 with freight.

OK. The Venom 1000 system only activates if three things ocurr:

1 - You must be at WOT based on a signal from your TPS.

2 - The signal from you 02 sensor must not show that you are running lean.

3 - The system must be turned on.

Also, if you add a window switch (which I recomended) the Nitrous will only spray if you are within a pre-determined RPM range. The important part here is that a window switch prevents nitrous from spraying if you were to hit your rev limiter.

The cheapest place to get the system is from Boro Performance. Their phone number is: 888-974-2133. It sells for $560 shipped from them. If you call, tell them you called in March and were quoted $525. They were running a sale then. Maybe they would let it go at the lower price for you if you ask.

BTW, I don't have one but I am going to get one. I have researched N02 quite a bit and spoke with about 6 guys who are using the Venom. No complaints. Great, safe, system for a beginner.

Thanks for the info. I know my friend used a NOS Nitrous 80 shot on a 2v 99+ 4.6 with stock timing and plugs and TOTALLY wrecked the motor.

JS142:

Please tell me more!!! You should not wreck a car with a 80 shot. Did he over-rev the engine? Was it a wet system and did he get an explosion from pooling of fuel? What happened? We can all learn.
